About Safe Life Hacks

Your independent guide to moving, settling, and building a life in a new country โ€” grounded in official sources, written in plain English.

What we do

Safe Life Hacks helps people navigate one of the most consequential decisions of their lives: moving to another country. We cover immigration pathways, visa categories, cost of living, and the practical details of settling in โ€” across 14 destinations including Canada, the United States, the United Kingdom, Australia, Germany, and more.

For each country we publish:

  • A destination hub page summarising the main visa pathways, cost of living, and recent policy changes.
  • An interactive pathway finder quiz that matches your profile to the visa categories most worth researching.
  • A continuously updated news feed of policy and procedural changes, summarised from official government sources in plain English.
  • Practical guides on everything from credential recognition to opening a bank account as a newcomer.

Why we built it

Immigration information is everywhere, but most of it is either impenetrable โ€” written in the language of regulations and statutory instruments โ€” or unreliable, coming from anonymous forum posts that go out of date the moment a policy changes. We believe serious readers deserve something in between: content that respects the complexity of the law but explains it clearly, cites official sources, and is kept genuinely current.

We also believe that many tools marketed to prospective migrants are either superficial (a four-question quiz that outputs a generic “yes you can move to Canada”) or predatory (paid “eligibility assessments” that cost hundreds of dollars and deliver the same boilerplate). Our pathway finders are free, rule-based, and transparent about what they can and cannot tell you.

How we are different

๐Ÿ“š

Official sources, always

Every page links to the underlying government website. If we cite a figure, we cite its origin.

๐Ÿ”„

Continuously updated

Automated monitors scan ten government news feeds daily. New announcements are summarised within 24 hours.

๐Ÿ”

Transparent tools

Our methodology page explains exactly how our pathway finder scoring works and what it canโ€™t tell you.

๐Ÿšซ

No paid placements

We do not accept money to recommend visa pathways or consultants. Affiliate links, where used, are disclosed.

Our coverage

We currently publish dedicated hubs and pathway finders for fourteen countries and territories: Canada, the United States, the United Kingdom, Australia, New Zealand, Germany, the Netherlands, France, Portugal, Japan, Singapore, the UAE, Thailand, and Bali. Each destination has its own editorial lead, its own news feed, and its own tool calibrated to that countryโ€™s immigration framework.

What we are not

Safe Life Hacks is an independent publisher. We are not a law firm, a visa consultancy, or a licensed immigration representative. We do not file applications on behalf of readers, do not offer one-to-one legal advice, and do not promise outcomes. For anything involving your own file, consult a licensed professional in the country you are moving to. For more on this, please read our full disclaimer.

Getting in touch

We welcome corrections, tip-offs about policy changes, requests for new destinations, and reader stories. The best way to reach us is through our Contact page. We read every message and reply to substantive ones within a few business days.

Looking for the right pathway? The fastest way to find what applies to you is to try one of our free country pathway finders. It takes about two minutes and matches you against the actual eligibility rules published by each countryโ€™s immigration authority.
